What to know

Use the right multiplication

For one campaign type, multiply eligible recipients by the number of sends and the billed units per recipient. Repeat for campaign types with different audiences or formats, then add the results. A count of drafts is not a credit estimate. Nor is a count of people: the same person may receive several separately charged messages over the month.

What to know

Leave unknown units unresolved

Use the merchant’s current accounting rules for the exact message type, length and encoding. The public headline SMS unit is not a guarantee that every possible draft bills once. If your message’s treatment is unclear, flag it before comparing the total with a plan. Our calculator requires an explicit unit assumption and cannot inspect a merchant account or calculate a live invoice.

What to know

Distinguish allowance from cash

An included credit allowance, a separately purchased bundle and a monetary account balance are different quantities. Do not subtract dollars from credits. After estimating units, compare them with the included units. Then use current quoted prices to evaluate a possible shortfall. Any setup fees, recurring number charges, taxes or other services belong on separate budget lines where applicable; an unknown fee is not free.

What to know

Read the result cautiously

The local calculator adds the outbound estimate to other chargeable units you enter and reports the gap against your allowance. It does not recommend an automatic purchase or replenish an account. A negative gap means the scenario exceeds the allowance; it does not tell you whether buying more, changing the format or removing an unnecessary send is the best response. Review the message plan before changing the subscription.

What to know

A worked gap

A fictional audience of 120 receiving four one-unit notices produces 480 outbound units. Add 80 known other units and compare the resulting 560 with an allowance of 500: the modeled shortfall is 60 units. It is not 60 dollars. Price that gap only after confirming the actual applicable bundle, fees and expiry conditions.

The evidence behind this buying guidance

This guide draws on TXT180 pricing, TXT180 feature documentation. Merchant-controlled records describe the provider’s own capabilities, terms or standards; they do not independently validate those claims. These records do not establish independent confirmation of the product claims.

Verify any current price, plan limit, label direction, compatibility rule, or commercial term that would materially change the decision. The dated source ledger shows the underlying records so this conclusion can be checked and updated.

What does the scenario use?

Recipients × sends × billed units, plus other chargeable units. Compare with the actual included allowance.

Use aggregate counts only. Unknown is not zero. Inputs are not saved.
