TXT180 vs Textedly: Prices, Message Limits and Which One Fits

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerTXT180 is cheaper on monthly billing at each matching tier, from $24.95 against $29 for 500 texts. Textedly allows 1,600-character messages and has a free account with no time limit.

TXT180 vs Textedly at the entry plan

TXT180 is the cheaper of the two on monthly billing, and Textedly allows longer messages and lists extras that TXT180's pages do not. TXT180's 500-credit plan is $24.95 month-to-month or $18.49 a month billed annually. Textedly's Basic plan is $29 a month for 500 messages. Textedly handles annual billing differently: its pricing table shows the same plan with 20% more messages, 600 a month, when billed annually, and the page text does not show a yearly dollar total. Prices are as read on 3 October 2026.

How Textedly counts a long message against the monthly allowance is not explained on its pricing page, so do not assume a 1,600-character text uses one message.

One thing each does that the other does not

Textedly only: every plan includes all features, and the pricing page names payment requests by text, review requests and AI agents among them. It also includes both a toll-free and a local number, and pays the registration cost for the first local number. TXT180's pages list none of those extras.

TXT180 only: a published price for extra credits. A sender who runs out mid-month can buy 500 credits for $20 and keep what is left over while the account is active. TXT180 also has 1,500 and 2,500 credit tiers, at $54.95 and $79.95, between the sizes that Textedly sells.

Who should pick TXT180 and who should pick Textedly

  • Pick TXT180 for short SMS announcements where price per text decides. A 2,000-text month costs $69.95, $9.05 less than Textedly Plus.
  • Pick Textedly if your announcements are long, for example a weekly notice that will not fit in 160 characters, or if you want to test for longer than 15 days before paying.
  • If your messages are long because they carry detail better suited to email, read email or SMS before paying for either.

What switching between TXT180 and Textedly involves

Your list will see a new number, so announce the change before the first send. TXT180's own pages disagree on the number type: the pricing and How It Works pages describe a toll-free number, while the FAQ still refers to short codes. Move only contacts with a recorded opt-in. Textedly's pricing page says a contact list can be uploaded as a CSV file. TXT180's features page says imports are enabled by its support team once regulatory requirements are met. Check your records against the consent readiness guide first.

To close a TXT180 account you call customer support, giving three business days' notice on a monthly account or 30 days on a prepaid annual one. Warning: under TXT180's terms, unused prepaid bundles are forfeited at termination and archived data is deleted within 60 days. Download contacts and opt-outs first, since this cannot be reversed. See the supplier exit checklist.
