The five TXT180 alternatives and their entry plans
The main TXT180 alternatives are EZ Texting, SimpleTexting, Textedly, SlickText and Flocknote. The first four sell monthly bundles of text credits, as TXT180 does. Flocknote is priced by church membership instead. Every figure below was read on the vendor's own pricing page on 3 October 2026 and can change.
| Service | Entry plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TXT180 | 500 credits | $24.95 a month | $18.49 a month, billed annually | 15 days, 50 messages |
| EZ Texting | Launch, 500 credits | $25 a month plus a $5 monthly Telecom Fee | $20 a month, billed annually, plus the fee | 14 days |
| SimpleTexting | 500 credits | $29, or $39 with a local number ($10 a month); no number fee on toll-free | $398.40 billed yearly with a local number, about $33.20 a month | Trial, no card required |
| Textedly | Basic, 500 messages | $29 a month | 600 messages a month; yearly price not shown in the page text | Free account with 50 messages |
| SlickText | 500 credits | $29 a month | Two months free; yearly price not shown in the page text | 14 days |
| Flocknote | Starter, unlimited standard texts | No charge up to 40 members, $10 a month for 41 to 50 | Not shown on the pricing page | Trial, no card required |
What each alternative does best, and one limit
- EZ Texting is strongest on built-in extras: every plan lists AI message drafting, a team inbox, text-to-pay and text-to-donate links, and it works in the United States and Canada. Limit: Launch, Boost and Scale each include only 500 credits and one user. More credits cost $0.04 each on Launch and each extra user costs $10 a month.
- SimpleTexting includes three user seats and live support seven days a week, and it states a 30-day refund. Limit: a local number adds $10 a month (a toll-free number has no added fee) and carrier fees are billed on top, which the pricing page puts at about $0.0025 a message in the United States.
- Textedly gives every feature on every plan and allows up to 1,600 characters in a message. Its free account has no time limit. Limit: the pricing page does not state a per-message overage rate, so going over means moving up a plan.
- SlickText offers eligible nonprofits 20% off standard plans and includes rollover credits. Limit: carrier fees apply on top of the plan price, and one-to-one onboarding starts at the $129 plan.
- Flocknote bundles unlimited email, unlimited standard texting, event signups and online giving for churches. Limit: longer texts and images need the SuperTexting add-on, and the price rises with total membership, not with how much you send.
Where TXT180 still fits, and where it does not
On these numbers TXT180 has the lowest month-to-month price of the five credit-based services at 500 texts: $24.95 against $25 plus a $5 fee at EZ Texting, $29 at Textedly and SlickText, and $29 at SimpleTexting with a toll-free number or $39 with a local one. SimpleTexting and SlickText bill carrier fees on top. TXT180's annual rate of $18.49 a month is also below the two annual rates that could be read, EZ Texting at $20 plus the fee and SimpleTexting at about $33.20 with a local number. A refund example in TXT180's terms uses a $215.40 annual prepayment, where 12 times $18.49 is $221.88; either figure is below the other two, but confirm the annual total at checkout. It includes a dedicated number, and credits bought as extra bundles do not expire while the account is active.
TXT180 does not fit when you need Canadian numbers, several included staff seats, or a church database with giving. Its support hours are weekdays only, Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:30pm and Friday 8am to 2pm Mountain time, according to its support page. For how TXT180's own tiers step up, see TXT180 pricing.
Which alternative to pick by type of buyer
- A small church of 40 members or fewer: Flocknote Starter, which the pricing page labels free for life at that size. See TXT180 vs Flocknote.
- A registered nonprofit comparing discounts: SlickText (20% off) or SimpleTexting (15% off monthly plans). See group texting for nonprofits.
- A team with three people sending and replying: SimpleTexting, because three seats are included.
- An organization with members in Canada: EZ Texting or SlickText, which both state US and Canada coverage.
- A sender who writes long messages: Textedly, for the 1,600-character allowance.
- A single sender with a US list and plain SMS announcements: stay with TXT180.
What moving away from TXT180 involves
Changing supplier means a new sending number, so tell your list before the first text arrives from it. Export your contacts and opt-in records before you cancel. TXT180's terms say cancellation is done by calling customer support, with three business days' notice on monthly accounts and 30 days on prepaid annual accounts. Warning: the same terms say prepaid message bundles are forfeited when the account is terminated and archived data is deleted within 60 days, and neither can be undone. The steps are covered in the supplier exit checklist.
