What 1,000 texts a month costs on each

Take the example on TXT180's own pricing page: 250 contacts texted four times a month, which is 1,000 credits. On TXT180 that is the 1,000-credit plan at $39.95 month-to-month, or $29.95 a month billed annually.

On EZ Texting Launch, 500 credits are included and the other 500 are overage at $0.04, which is $20. Add the $25 plan and the $5 fee and the month comes to $50. EZ Texting says bundled credit discounts are available at checkout, and those could not be seen without starting a purchase, so the real figure may be lower. On the published rates, TXT180 is $10.05 a month less at this volume. Both services count an MMS as three credits, so picture messages triple the usage on either. See SMS or MMS before you budget.

One thing each does that the other does not

EZ Texting only: its pricing page lists AI Compose and AI Reply, a team inbox, and text-to-pay or text-to-donate links on every plan, and it serves Canada. TXT180's feature and pricing pages list none of these, and its pricing page says US only.

TXT180 only: fixed-price tiers at 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 credits, so a growing list moves to a known monthly price instead of paying per-credit overage. Its extra credit bundles also stay available for as long as the account is active, where EZ Texting's monthly credits last one extra billing cycle.

Who should pick TXT180 and who should pick EZ Texting

  • Pick TXT180 if one or two people send plain SMS announcements to a US list and the monthly price matters most. A church, club or school office sending 1,000 to 2,500 texts a month fits here, because TXT180 has a fixed-price tier at each of those volumes.
  • Pick EZ Texting if you need to reach Canadian numbers, want donation or payment links inside texts, or want several staff working replies in a shared inbox and accept $10 a month per extra user.
  • Pick neither if you are a church that wants email, giving and a member database in the same product. Compare TXT180 vs Flocknote instead.

What switching between TXT180 and EZ Texting involves

Either way you get a new sending number. EZ Texting's Launch plan lists a local number. TXT180's own pages disagree on the number type: the pricing and How It Works pages describe a toll-free number, while the FAQ still refers to short codes. Tell your list in advance so the first text from the new number is expected. Contacts must have opted in. TXT180's features page says importing a list from a previous provider is enabled by its support team once regulatory requirements are met, so allow time for that. The checks are in the import readiness guide.

To leave TXT180 you call customer support, with three business days' notice on a monthly account or 30 days on a prepaid annual one. Warning: its terms say unused prepaid message bundles are forfeited at termination and archived data is deleted within 60 days. Export contacts and opt-out records first, because this cannot be reversed. EZ Texting's pricing FAQ says a plan can be paused, canceled or upgraded from the account at any time.
